Rumor: George Lucas Thinks the World Will End in 2012 UPDATE
According to Green Hornet's Seth Rogen, the Star Wars auteur believes the world will end next year.
Seth Rogen was recently interviewed and told an anecdote about a uncomprehensible conversation he once had with George V Lucas. Rogen was in an unspecified meeting with Lucas and director Steven Spielberg when the Star Wars visionary got sidetracked and began to discuss the Day of Judgment. Rogen tells the Toronto Sun, "George George Lucas sits down and seriously proceeds to talk for just about 25 minutes about how he thinks the world is gonna end in the class 2012, like, for real. He thinks it."
Evidently it's just Lucas that holds these beliefs, arsenic Rogen goes on to say, "all the time Spielberg is, like, reverberative his eyes, suchlike, 'My nerdy friend won't squinched up, I'm disconsolate…'"
If, reading this, you think over information technology sounds like an exaggeration or caper, you'ray non alone. Rogen himself didn't believe information technology initially, telling the Sun he sentiment Lucas "was joking… and so I totally realized He was serious and then I started thought, 'If you're George Lucas and you actually think the world is gonna end in a twelvemonth, in that location's no way you haven't built a spaceship for yourself'… So I asked him… 'Can I have a rump on it?'" Lucas denied the existence of any such vehicle, just Rogen has his suspicions. Should we be faced with the apocalypse next twelvemonth, helium expects Lucas to hop the Millenary Falcon waiting in the service department, complete with number one wood. Rogen concluded, "it's gonna constitute him and Spielberg and I'll follow blown-up like the rest of us."

UPDATE:
Lucasfilm illustration Lynne Hale emailed Wired.com to clear some things up just about Lucas' beliefs:
"Helium was not serious when he talked about the day of reckoning in 2012 but he is an adamant believer that the universe is flat, that Stonehenge was improved by aliens, and that the sun revolves around the Earth. These are among the many subjects he ordinarily discusses lengthily with Elvis, World Health Organization he's active to digitally insert into Indy 5 along with a roll of famous dead actors."
Seth Rogen could be exaggerating, but I allay wouldn't be surprised if Lucas were prepped and prepared to escape this satellite for a extragalactic nebula far, far aside.
